According to a report by Military.com’s DoDBuzz, it was revealed that the soldiers currently equipped with the Android Tactical Assault Kit (ATAC), which was essentially a glorified Samsung Galaxy Note, will soon be replaced by the iPhone Tactical Assault Kit, according to a source within the Army who is not authorized to communicate with the media. However, it is not clear which exact version of Android and which specific Galaxy Note device is involved....

Ransomware generally locks a computer by making changes to its operating system, which the end user needs to pay to get back unlocked. Cryptolocker meanwhile uses the encryption library files in Windows to render 70 types of files unreadable without a valid decryption key, hence forcing companies which did not take regular backups to pay the premium or else be screwed.More than 50% Cryptolocker infections are found in United States while ransomware softwares and platforms are finding a major boon in Russia and Eastern Europe since about an year ago....

Kosovo-based bug-hunter Florian Kunushevci, who discovered the vulnerability, demonstrated the bypass in a YouTube video (see below). It can be safely said that Apple is copying Samsung S8 by bringing out a bezel-less iPhone X. The iPhone X is said to cost upwards of $1000 for its bezel-less design and OLED screen. Xioami, one of the top Android smartphone makers from China has decided to take on Apple as well as Samsung with its own version of bezel-less Android smartphone. With Apple poised to announce its iPhone X today, Xiaomi has already unveiled the successor to its innovative Mi MIX smartphone at an ongoing event in Beijing....

While the video leaked online doesn’t show the phone bending, but it does suggest Xiaomi has created a real, tangible bendable smartphone that also responds to touch. The 30 seconds video clip also shows the device running Xiaomi’s latest MIUI 8 while it is being operated by a user. However, there are no details about the smartphone yet or any release date either. Earlier this year, Bloomberg had reported that Samsung may release two bendable OLED screen smartphones next year....

However, the video streaming platform is often viewed as a key source for spreading misinformation and potentially harmful content. While YouTube has been addressing the issue of misinformation and bad content on its platform based on its 4Rs of Responsibility principles, the company on Thursday also announced in a blog post its new three-tiered approach to tackle key misinformation challenges on the platform. The first approach is to catch new misinformation before it goes viral....

BackStab has been employed by law enforcement and cyberattackers alike to steal SMS and MMS messages, call logs, contacts and address book information, calendars and notes, photos, email, recorded audio and videos, browser bookmarks, web browsing history, cookies from visited websites and geolocation history. The malware exploits the fact that many backup tools don’t implement encryption, so the malicious code easily finds the backups and access data it contains. As explained by the experts, the BackStab malware doesn’t need to have higher-level privileges or root access to the device or the infected computer....

The flaw was detected by Security researcher Kyle Lovett when he analysed some ADSL routers during his spare time. Upon investigation he found that hundreds of thousands of such routers made by different manufacturers, which are provided by ISPs may be vulnerable. The flaw isn’t new and has been reported by multiple researchers since 2011 in various router models. These routers have been distributed in countries such as Colombia, India, Argentina, Thailand, Moldova, Iran, Peru, Chile, Egypt, China and Italy....
